Thanks for the glowing report about Gubbys offspring. The only puppy I have kept track of is Clutch. It's great to hear that the females in the litter are doing so well. When I first got Gubby from Jim Arvigo I was skeptical about his ability to produce. Just because both of Gubbys parents are titled in French Ring doesnt mean that when they are bred together they will produce Ring dogs. Performance ability doesn't always equal reproductive ability. Now that Gubby has been bred, I am excited to see that his offspring (judging from Clutch and your post) carry the same working ability that Gubby has . In fact, in my judgement Clutch is one of the finest puppies I have ever had the pleasure of putting a bitework foundation on, of any breed. What I am amazed most by is to actually see improvement take place. That is what Mondioring is all about; improving the working qualities of our bloodlines. By training and breeding American Bulldogs to excell in an international sport like Mondioring, I hope someday we can bring the Bulldog to the same pinacle of success that the Malinois has earned over the last hundred years. The bloodline that produced Gubby is excellent, but the bloodline by itself is not enough. Breeders need the selective pressure of compititions like Mondioring to test thier stock if they hope for improvement. The Mondioring program tests: courage, controll, agility, retrieve drive, sociability, eviromental stability and perhaps most important of all adaptability. Gubby has earned his place in my kennel, looks like his offspring are starting to earn thier keep as well. Keep your eyes open for Gubbys second litter.
