Subject: I made a mistake, basic point remains valid

Mondio is not a combination of Schutzhund and Ring Sport. It is a combination of the existing Ring Sports. My bad.

However, my basic point remains valid. When The WABA invented the BST and the BST II they insisted these tests were supposed to be a combo of Ring and Schutzhund, but they are straight Schutzhund (with an optional suit). So the BST III should be pretty much straight Ring, to honor their commitment toward a balance between the two sports.

The thing is that the people who have earned the BST and BST II with their Bulldogs don't want the BST III to be based on Schutzhund. Many of these people already have Schutzhund titles. I've talked to a lot of them and they want the BST III to be different, i.e. based on Ring. Considering the unscripted protection tourneys we've all been participating in, the BST III should be based 100% on Mondio.

Rich Quinn has only recently taken over the WABA, he is a breath of fresh air. He will be happy to go this way, I bet.

Right now the WABA acts like a farm team for Schutzhund. It was never meant to be that lop sided. The people that used to be in charge simply lacked the knowledge base to incorporate Ring sport into their regimen.

The new leadership is probably willing to be counseled by people like Francis M.
