Subject: a great idea

I have no idea who started this (though given the descriptions of Mark and Brad I have my suspicions) but what a great idea. I'd love to catch up on some of your stories.

I'm in Africa - this is my 10th year. I taught for only one more year after I left PNG (no reflection on my experiences at BHHS), then joined Scripture Union in Queensland. This is a Christian organisation involved with evangelism and discipleship of children and youth. I was Primary schools staff - clubs, camps, training of children's workers etc. After almost 6 years there, I left to join SU in Kenya where I was staff for 5 years in Mombasa - the main port city for East Africa. Beaches to the north and south but moastly hot and sweaty in the city. A steep learning curve at an age when I wasn't as flexible as I thought! The past 4 years I've been in the SU Africa office as children's ministry coordinator. I've been to 14 African countries in that role mainly for training, getting children's work established etc. I cannot believe how good God has been to give me a job that satisfies my wanderlust! The last couple of years I've also been involved at the international level of SU (again with kids stuff) - I've just come back from a fantastic week at the staff conference in India.

Still single and enjoying it. I get back to Oz every 3 years - but will reduce that to 2 years I think now that my mum is getting older. And me.

Better get to work.

Cheers
Wendy
