Chapter Five
Ethan felt overwhelmed. His mother , Rebecca and Gwen had all betrayed him. They had ruined his life. And to top it all off, his beloved Theresa was dead.
He drove around Harmony for what seemed like hours until he reached his destination. The beach. Their beach. Ethan smiled as he flashed back to the events that had happened here. This was the place where he and Theresa had made love. Where he had officially made her a woman. And where she had given him a new sense of love. A love most people dreamed of. An earth shattering love. One that could never be extinguished.
Slowly he leaned down an spread a blanket he had brought. He sat down on it and silently watched the ocean. The waves splashed against the coves and the wind blew against his face. He thought of all the things he and Theresa had done. Their first meeting, where she had spilled paint all over his head. Their first sort of date where they had went to the ballet and seen Cinderella. Their first kiss. The first declarations of love. Their first time at this exact spot. He could still remember what it felt like to kiss her, to touch her, to be with her in every sense of the word. The whole experience had been amazing. He had never been to the place that she took him. The love he felt for Theresa was incredible. But now she was gone and he'd never see her again. Well that wasn't all true. He'd see her in his dreams, his fantasies, his thoughts, his memories. But it wasn't the same. It could never compare to her actually being there.
Suddenly he heard a song that was being played. The melody was slow and has the words began to play he started to see flashes of him and Theresa right in front of his eyes.
I was stained with a role
In a day not my own
but as you walked into my life
you showed what needed to be shown
I always knew what was right
I just didn't know that i might
peel away and choose to see
with such a different light

Ethan suddenly felt like someone was watching him. He chose to ignore it so he could focus on the memories of him and Theresa.
Never cared, Never wanted
Never sought to see what flaunted
So on purpose, So in my face
Couldn't see beyond my own place
It was so easy not to behold what i could hold
But you taught me I could change
Whatever came within these shallow days

As the chorus played Ethan felt tears spring to his eyes.
As the sun shines through it pushes away
And pushes ahead
It fills the warmth of blue
And leaves a chill instead and
I didn't know that I could be
So blind to all that is so real

As the last cords of music faded, Ethan sobbed hysterically into his hands. He suddenly stopped though when he heard the most beautiful voice.
"Ethan ?"
Ethan slowly turned around and gasped. "It couldn't be," he thought. Was he imagining her? Bravely he said,
"Theresa?"
