 Do you believe that SLAP will continue production for the remainder of this year? We're on pace to sell 6,000 Explorers this month. One shift can make that at LAP in just about two weeks. Not only will SLAP's production be halted sometime in the near future, LAP will continue to have idle weeks this year with sales this low.
It's all pure speculation on my part...prediction is what he asked for...many on here know I'll give my opinion.
As for LAP on the chopping block? I can go along with that prediction. This restructuring is supposed to last through 2011; who's to say we won't be slated close in 2011 or 2012. If we're already on pace to sell less than 10,000 a month now, how many will we be selling in the year 2008? Let alone 2011 or 2012.
Atlanta thought they were getting new products, now they're getting closed more than likely.
No plant is safe in Ford's system, and FoMoCo will continue to shrink in the years to come.
All my speculation of course.
