Subject: any suggestions

Hi all,
I have een playing sc for a while now and have made it to portoss 6. I encountered problems with freezing in the level but managed to make it to the end with a lot of patience. when I beat the level and try to go to the next the screen doesn't come up. I try to go into protoss 7 manually but it doesn't load. I've tried patches, and direct x upgrading. Nothing seems to be working for me. Any suggestions?? thanks!
