Dodelijke eenzaamheid
Vergiftigende haat
Verstikkende verlatenheid
Daar is waar het verleden me achter laat.

Mijn lichaam zwaar geschonden,
mijn geest verdoofd en kil.
Een toekomst zo moeizaam voor te stellen,
wat kan er nog van wat ik wil.

Hoop doet leven, geeft leven hoop?
De dood was zo vaak dichtbij,
mijn gevoelsleven ligt overhoop,
Liefde... maak me vrij?

Ik zal innerlijke vrijheid vinden,
wanneer de brandende pijn is opgehouden.
Dan zal ik me kunnen verbinden,
met alles waar ik op kan vertrouwen.
