Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light. - Helen Keller
Friends...they cherish one another's hopes. They are kind to one another's dreams. - Thoreau
Eros will have naked bodies;Friendship, naked personalities. C.S. Lewis

Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over.

Octavia Butler

"Chicken Fries a good idea". Are you nuts!!!! They keep them at room temp for an hour. A well run store gets rid of them after that. But lets consider what B.K.'s are run like today. When you order they drop them in the fryer for 25 sec.s . Eat them at your own risk. Good Luck.

Hello Paul, it is me Chris. I am on a bit of vacation from work and I am in the Big Smoke (Auckland). I was wondering if you got the comics. The one that is a writting one can be addapted so if you think of anything cool we can stick it on there. I was hoping to get it into a NZ magazine but the gallery that does mags has up and dissapeared while I have been gone for 2 years, as well as many of my haunts here in Auckland has also dissapeared. Oh well. Atleast there is a internet cafe here and it is a reasonable 1$ for 20 minutes. I am likeing the city and almost think it will be wierd to go back to Coromandel. It is a bit remote and I feel like getting on a plane so I think I may be looking at the light at the end of the tunnel and it looks alot like Japan.

I am still keeping up with your blog. I sometimes suffer from carpal tunnel, too.

Did you know that you do your worst damage at night when you sleep? Get a carpal tunnel wrist brace at any drugstore and wear it when you sleep. It helps give your wrist the rest it needs.

I do a lot of typing during the day and if I do too much at home at night (folding towels, etc.), I wear the brace when I sleep and it really does help!

Talk to you later!

The fact of the matter Paul is you don't like change you want everything to stay the same unfortunately people grow up they get married, they move away, they get sick... and they die life is too freaking short to hide behind locked doors and whine that things change better to go out howling and enjoying things too bad you won't

I have been reading your messages for months so - the only conclusion i can come to is that you need help. You have obviously lost control of your life and emotional state - Are you willing to spend the rest of your life like this? You're probably right that the people around you are growing tired of hearing about your misery; but, these friends would support you if you would take action, you should be willing to take charge of your own well-being. I'm sure this is not new to you, but there are people who are reading this who, while we feel for you, are growing frustrated by your inaction. I hope you can pave a path to self healing - You seem to be a beautiful person, let that shine. No one does it alone...Wishing you the best and hoping you find the key to self-fulfillment.

This past year, I made a vow to double my protein intake. I can't tell you the energy it has given me! I no longer feel the need to take daily naps, I rarely take any naps at all. My coworkers and family have noticed a difference in my energy level, too.

EXAMPLE - I was "dead-dog tired" when my first child was 6 months old. Took naps all the time. With my second child, I tried eating differently, and I was amazed that I stopped being tired day in and day out.

I am not sure what KINDS of things you eat, but if you can double any portion you take of the protein, you might find yourself with more energy after a week or so. That might help you with all that you have to get done in a day.

Get that protein in, then eat as much as you want of the side dishes.

Please try this. It seems like a small change to see if it will work or not.

PS - Good website, by the way! Content rich. And I enjoy it. (Please note that I don't enjoy your unhappiness or trials, though.)

I read your poem, "Cold", interestingly after just searching in Altavista by "philosphy AND poetry" using the boolean expression that they still (and hopefully will forever) let us use. I thought it was a hauntingly lovely, and I wanted to say so. It made my morning better for reading it. Thank you.

I will not chop your head off, but this is the first time I have visited your site. With the internet I am like that guy who will get his toes wet, and then his feet and then his ancles and then his shins. But you have a very nice site. and the new strokes cd is the best thing to dance in the shower to. I would sing but I dont have a damn clue what they are saying. much better than being able to bowl with your head. It is glad to hear that your theisis is comming along, except for it sucking so much. Everything is going well down here, I am even blowing glass at a studio and the boss guy is super nice. Wouldnt want to do it any other time than the middle of winter though. Im glad I visited and I am sure I will be back and If you ever have any new poetey that you would like feed back on just e-mail me and let me know and it all looks user friendly enough, and I allways loved your poetry and I hope to read lots of it. and have you heard of Bob Schneider, he wrote this book of poetry and his drawings, both super awsome, called I have seen the end of the world and it looks like this. It will make you want to dance in the shower to the Strokes. and the guy that I am working, well not getting paid, but he gave me 20$ today, I pretty much just hang out and help for free, his web site is www.createglass.com.
Take care and best of luck working on the theisis and happy semester.
-Chris

Hey, I know you don't know me, but I love the site and thought I'd post anyway. :) Though I'm not gay myself, I am very passionate about gay rights--especially rights like same sex marriage. I read the article on the home page, and I just wanted you to know (not that you care... :P) that I support your stand on the issue and am very disappointed in the Democratic candidates (though this in no way means that I'm going to vote for Bush, damned bastard). Anyway, just wanted to write that, even though I know that you probably don't care either way. So, yes, wonderful site. You're awesome. :)

hey paul...i think if you did a random sampling of 36 year olds, MOST of them would love to be kids again...you're definitely NOT alone...and if wanting to be a kid makes one pathetic, meet the most pathetic of them all...actually, not "meet" since you already know me pretty well...

paul...don't discount what you mean to your friends...you may think you don't reach anyone with the website...maybe that's true...but it's a way for me to keep track of you...you friendship is very important to me, to eric, to heather, to chris, to more people i don't know...your genuine desire to help people shines through these friendships and give the rest of us strength to do what we need to do...so, if you'd rather just help strangers (or gay people), this site may well be a failure...but, for reaching your friends, it a success...so, just think about what you have in your life...good friends...work (after a fashion) that interests you...loving people in your life...YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE (even if i'm a failure at the staying-in-touch thing)

I have to say, in reading a lot of what you have written over the past couple of years, my heart goes out to you. I too, feel very depressed a lot of the time, and I don't know where it comes from. I am a writer, so the reclusiveness is natural, but I feel somewhat cut off from my friends and loved ones all the time now, and I can't seem to figure out why. It's just odd. I think that you and I could have quite a bit in common if we decided to email back and forth or something...
Just to say, never give up on yourself... no matter how bad things are, they can always get worse. So just keep your head up, and email me if you want. Peace.

Hey,

Just read your message on the home page from the 29th jan. I totally understand what you are expressing and where you come from. Have been feeling down too for a couple of days. Tuesday was bit of a personal anniversary for me (read my e-mail) and all I could do was to allow myself to cry sporadically all day. Everything felt so raw all over again and simple heart warming stories on the television made me well up with unbidden tears. Sometimes it's a good thing for those long extinct fears and pain to well up once in a while. Forgetting is never a good thing. Pain from betrayal is a lways a bitter pill to swallow, espacially when everyone around you is flourishing or more accurately appearing to. The amount of people who have told me that theie first impression of me was one of incredible confideincd when more often than not I am far form it. You have beauty to offer to others, not just from your prose and poetry but from what you imbue those words with.

(adsl-64-108-52-246.dsl.sfldmi.ameritech.net/64.108.52.246)

I am new to discovering The Dreamworld. It happened almost purely by accident, but I am glad I did.

TheDreamer states the this is a small realm of conceivable possibilities premised on the ideal of honesty, love and respect for one another regardless of the tiny factors that separate people. In this I find a message of encouragement and strength. I makes me look to the stars and wonder.

This planet, our spaceship, may seem large in comparison to what we are, but its wends its lonely way around a tiny star in the backwaters of the Milky Way galaxy. How can it be that the passengers on this ship divide themselves so effortlessly and with such malice, squabbling like children over who gets which seat? We are all on the same ride. Very little stands between on passenger and the next. Surfaces differences should mean nothing. After all, when viewed from one billions miles out, can anyone see the differences? The question arises as to why would we choose to make the journey painful. It benefits none, and all pay a price.

Thus, to me, The Dreamworld is not a fantasy, but a realm of reality we have yet to explore. Perhaps if we understood better that nearly all people are seeking the same things in life -- things that often only differ my by minute degrees and types -- and that the burden of the quest is make lighter by the sharing, perhaps that is when the dream would cease to be and take root in reality.

Keep the dream alive! Be well. Be Free.

Drake
