Subject: Are they sell outs?

I was watching the movie "The Butterfly Effect" today and in one scene where the "heavy" goth guy is making love to a girl on his roommates bed the song "Dark Entries" by the well known goth band,Bauhaus is playing in the back ground. I was like what the fuck? Does that make them sell outs? I was kind of disappointed to hear that. I also noticed a poster of "The Cramps". What do you think?
