Many tyres these days are "steel belt" tyres and WILL cause injury to your SBT's mouth. There are more appropriate ways of getting rid of your dog's energy, "Kong" toys for power chewers are most recommended. If you stuff these with some food (kibble, or peanut butter or something he really likes) you won't need to teach him to be interested either. Does he get enough exercise and mental stimulation? How about taking up a hobby with him like Agility? Fun and exercise and mental stimulation all in one.

A tired dog does not have time to to think up naughtiness.
