| Afternoon was breaking beneath Eve’s blanket as she began her creeping saunter over the lands, ready to capture those who stood under her blanket. Her sky. She was ruler tonight. It was now that she pondered whether or not she would throw the whole world in complete blackness, or light up the night with her luminous eye. It was also during this time that the nocturnal critters scurried about, crickets sung their lament, begging the light back as owls, and other birds of prey exalted the darkness and began to let their cringing sonatas, of which were so much different then the more smooth, soft and beautiful ones that the birds of light sung. It seemed tonight, she would be unmerciful, and give the perilous nocturnals their wish, and throw the whole land into complete darkness, covering up her eye with a patch and sealing it with a skinning gust of breath that seemed to just creep up and then slice along your skin like that of a scythe. It was now that the alabaster stallion chose to come out of his hiding and make his appearance known. Even that made no sense, for his frame was easily viewable with his lambent color that seemed to pulsate the darker his surroundings grew. But the suspense and mystery is what made this world worth living in… right? Or wrong? You decide. Either way we live and die, day by day. And while some sit on their thrones, eating sweets, receiving entertainment, gaining respect just because they hold a title, others slave away to obtain a goal they will never receive. Just to be known. And even then, their only goal is to contain with them a full stomach, or a moist throat. Either way, this world will never change. It will forever remain harsh and cruel. So he slipped from his calamitous shrouds that instantly melted into everything to just create a black world. His small form almost mistaking him as a younger horse, around one or two years old. Its supple curves that appeared with the undulating sinew giving him a slender appearance. A singular intonation radar rotated as the elliptical openings that adored his muzzle dilated, pulsating his lungs with breath. So he was in the middle. Neither hating life nor loving it. Who am I? I’m nobody. |
