It isn't the sidestand switch, it's the control box. This drove me absolutely frigging bonkers on my C2 model last year. The control box in under the seat, and has block connectors going into it. There's next to nothing inside the thing, but the terminals corrode and on my one a connector had corroded through. Take the box out, pull it to bits, clean all of the contacts and re-assemble it, also look at the spade terminals in the connector and clean them up (As I recall it was a large white wire that had a rotted terminal on mine).
