Subject: Lumpy runnin'

I have just aquired my first ZZR1100 I notice that the reed valve assembly is missing from the top! C series american import I think I need to balance the carbs? it idles unevenly and tries to cut out unless I rev it at 2000 rpm in traffic I have fully serviced it and it has improved things however horror stories of shims etc are'nt making me feel good since I parted with a hand built CBR to aquire this monster and am now skint any advice appreciated I think its had the usual 750 carb tops and 4-1 palaver done to it........regards mick (is it just me or are kwackers friendlier?)
