No. You Cloud and Tifa fans are all wrongs. First of all, Cloud did NOT receive Zack's memories. He LIVED off of the STORIES Zack told and eventually LIVED off of it, like his OWN memories. He didn't RECEIVE anything from Zack. Plus, they're personalities were not alike WHATSOEVER. And yes, Aerith thought Cloud reminded her of Zack; that's why she said 'I want to meet the real you'. She DIED. She couldn't have met the real Cloud if she was dead. She's the one who guided Tifa into the lifestream and helped Cloud because Aerith trusted Tifa to do the job for her.
And the Highwind scene? SE confirmed they TALKED all night and confirmed their MUTUAL feelings. Not 'love' or anything romantic. And no, they didn't have sex. Tifa and Cloud talked about how everyone's lives would be different after they defeated Sephiroth, and how all of their lives they've been alone. Tifa wants to start a new life. What's wrong with that? Moving on? The problem is Cloud CAN'T move on. Also, when Cloud tries to get up, Tifa insists that she rest her head on his shoulder a bit longer. Cloud's not the rude type. Of course he's going to let Tifa enjoy her moment.
And how are Cloud and Tifa perfect for each other? In FF7, when Aerith's around, he focuses all of her attention on her. Aerith made Cloud laugh. Cry. Feel actual pain. Tifa? Yes, she helped him uncover the truth about his past, but that's what FRIENDS do. Aerith couldn't have done the job because she was dead. Plus, in Advent Childre, even when Aerith's gone - Cloud still pays more attention to her than to Tifa! Whenever Tifa's talking - mostly yelling - Cloud doesn't acknowledge her whatsoever.
Tifa: So which is it... a memory or us?
When Tifa asks a memory, she means Aerith because Aerith was in the past. But, Cloud can't his head out of the past because he STILL has STRONG feelings for her, PLUS the guilt. Also, Tifa says this:
Tifa: So that's it? You're gonna give up and die.
When has Cloud ever given up on something? Cloud doesn't want to CONTINUE his life anymore. He doesn't want to FIGHT. He doesn't want to BE WITH TIFA. If they were so in love, how come Cloud doesn't tell her what he's feeling? How come he always leaves and doesn't tell her where he's going and when he'll be back? Even when Cloud found Denzel, he admitted finding him near Aerith's church. That means he STILL goes there and prefers to be around there INSTEAD of Tifa's bar.
In the end of AC, there's a music video of Cloud hopping on his Fenrir and riding to go meet Aerith. There's a freakin' flower field, AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC BEHIND IT. LISTEN TO THE LYRICS, OR BETTER YET, LOOK THEM UP. IT'S ROMANTIC. IT'S LOVE. IT'S PEACE.
*Sigh* I'm not a rabid Clerith fan, I'm just tired of seeing the same stuff over and over again and repeating myself. If you wanna 'discuss' on the LT, I'm here.
