For a moment Glifinial continued to stare off into space as if she had not heard his question, then turned tear-bright eyes to look at him. She could almost see her sister's face, hear her golden laughter. "Yes, I'm okay," she answered, hurridly wiping them on her sleeve and swallowing hard. She gave him a small smile; though sincere, it was tempered with sadness. "I'm going out for a bit," she said, suddenly rising to her feet as the emotion became too much to bear. Without another word she ducked out of sight down the ladder. A whistle could be faintly heard from the common room, followed by hoofbeats that gradually disappeared as Silver Dawn bore her rider away at a full gallop.
