When love casts her illusions, close your eyes,
Avoid her gaze, as like you would the sun,
Never listen to her sweet, whispered lies,
Or kiss the mouth that hides an adder's tongue.
She came to me beneath a veiled shroud,
Amidst miasmal vapours,apparelled
In seraph's garments, white as purest cloud,
With heaven's claws, she dragged me into hell.
Fear not love itself, but to be blind
To truth,as moths are drawn into the light,
For like a swan, she can deceive the mind,
Her ebon feathers hidden under white.
When dreams of love are cast on marble cracked,
Beneath the sculptured joy,the core is black.
