The Willing Soul

The soul is so willing,
The heart can be so weak,
While the spirit is calling,
With words yet to speak.

Through the heart's craving,
The flesh, weaker still,
A hunger that's raving,
To feed and to fill.

Tears fall like rain,
From inner blue eyes,
Waters stirred with pain,
That hides in disguise.

Shallow wells can not feel,
The sadness and hurt,
While thoughts often reel,
To mingle with dirt.

And minds come up vacant,
A void in the dark,
The self become's absent,
Ignoring the spark.

Can one discern truths,
That lay there in wait?
Which one is a lie,
Which one is fate?

Can one determine,
Between what is deep,
To become certain,
What surface we keep?

Through stillness and trust,
One might find a surprise,
On what forms from the dust,
Before one's inner eyes.

Absorbing the feeling,
From visions within,
The rhythms and dealings,
That guide creation.

Then we can discover,
A love beyond touch,
A friend and a lover,
Which we need so much.

A light in the shadow,
A firm hand to hold,
A glimmer and glow,
Just as it was foretold
