The Ocean in You

I wondered torwards the shore
And stared at the darkness of the ocean
Memories of you came
upon my consiousness
Leaving behind a longing for solitude.

The ocean air
kissed my weathered cheek
With splashes of color blue
And shadows dancing in the light.

Ripples in the cold water
Played a dreamlike quality
Mezmerizing me with their
magic movements.

Sometimes I think of you
Hidden in the firelight of evening
Dancing with the wave
Racing up to catch them

Your pale face
Staring at the endless horizon
Reminded me
Of hours spent
You and I
Gazing at the sun.

And I
I stood there
Holding my breath
For fear that it would end
This love affair with life
This love affair with you!
