Subject: Sunshine

Just saw Sunshine, Danny Boyle's (28 Days Later, Trainspotting) sci-fi/horror/thriller. Basically it's about a group of scientists sent to help kickstart the dying sun by dropping a bomb the size of Manhattan into its guts.

In essence its Armageddon, only with a brain, and real characters instead of walking movie cliches, and good direction, and no shitty Aerosmith song, and the guy who played the Human Torch giving a startlingly good performance, and science content that actually seems plausible instead of retarded.

Basically, what I'm saying is that don't pay attention to the comparisons to Armageddon. Sunshine is very, very good, and in no way one of the most mind-fuckingly stupid movies ever made (which Armageddon is).
