There was a feature on the local news last night and an article in the morning paper about people picketing this movie and protesting the use of the word retard. They say if kids go to this movie they might return to school and call each other retard. First, what kid is going to this movie? This movie is R for a reason, it is not appropriate for anyone under 16. Secondly, like retard is a schoolyard taunt that they haven't heard before? Lastly, if the retard rant is the only thing that a "kid" takes from this movie, then perhaps they should call themselves that.
