Subject: Didn't like Clooney as Batman.

Wore the suit as if it were a tux. Made absolutely no difference to the acting.

In retrospect, Michael Keaton was the best of the Batmen because putting the suit on him transformed him into something. Hell, it actually made the dark avenger believable, (because otherwise, what're we looking at? Some guy traipsing around in his underwear? That's thinking you have to head right off).

I thought Clooney was the best "Bruce Wayne", Kilmer the best at giving both characters an identity, and Keaton the best Batman.

Then again, Keaton's Bruce Wayne wasn't given much depth. In fact, he was written as a goof.

Another thing, why do they have to keep killing the supervillains? Any reason behind that?

They have to take a lesson from the cartoon. I was trying to work out what made it (and the cartoon of Superman) so good, and then I realized it was the aggressive lack of dependency upon the co-characters. For instance, even after he'd been introduced, Robin was used only sporadically in the cartoons. If the story didn't need him, they didn't use him, (as opposed to the Hollywood metholody of trying to justify his presence). Superman did the same thing, utilizing a lack of reliance on Lois Lane.

Think that's the problem with a lot of superhero translations in that the writers look at the "package", instead of the one guy each of these things is really about. Maybe that's why Spiderman did so well.
