In Phantom Menace Yoda makes it quite clear that fear is the reason Anakin could not commence training.
He makes that speech
" I sense much fear in you
Fear is the power of the Dark Side
Fear leads to anger
Anger leads to hate
Hate leads to sufferring
I sense much fear in you"
Yoda felt Anakin should never be trained, regardless of age, to me, he seemed to know what could happen if he was.
Anakin's eventual heel turn proved Yoda to be right.
Admittedly, I haven't seen Clones, but I gathered that Obi Wan took over the training of Anakin, against Yoda's orders and hense, created a Super Villain, The Fool!!!
One question, did Anakin turn to the Dark Side in clones, or does that happen in episode 3? I'm betting it's right at the end of clones.
