The Phantom Menace suffered from multiple personalities. Lucas never seems sure whether he's making a film for adults, young adults, or kids.

All the darker bits are interesting, but left unexplored. Everything else is trash.

I liked Attack of the Clones, although you could cut the first twenty minutes with all the cliches, i.e. the lizard creatures sent in to assassinate Amidala (why not just shoot her?), the silly overlong chase-scene, and the assassin about to reveal who she works for...only to be shot.

It should've begun with Obi Wan taking Amidala away to protect her, and Obi Wan going to that mystery planet to find out about the clones. All the stuff which occurred before could've been summarized in the scrolling intro, and probably should've been.

My biggest problem with the flicks, though, is I cannot reconcile the Anakin from The Phantom Menace becoming the Anakin in Attack of the Clones. It seems impossible.

Oh yeah - Attack of the Clones should've been the first flick, and The Phantom Menace should've been given the flick (or become an ancillary kid's adventure).

I really can't see how Lucas is going to finish-up the rest of the story in one movie without skimming over a lot of it.
