Subject: Winter White Father Bullies Babies! Pls help!

Hi!
My female winter white recently gave birth to a litter of 5. On the second day, I found one baby dead in the middle of the cage. I suspected it was the father who killed it and seprated him.
However, when I read that winter white parents raise their babies together I decided to put the father back with the mother and her babies. I monitored him closely and observed that the father was bullying the babies. He would suddenly 'pounce' on them and they would turn over on their backs, stupified. He also bites them and sits on them until they squeak. Is this normal? Or is the because I had seperated him earlier?
I am not sure what to do. Should I leave him where he is or seperate him? Will the babies get injured or killed?

You should seperate them asap. You dont want your hamsters to die do you? If your female has another litter, see what happens and watch closely! If he starts to bully and/or hurt them, remove him asap. They can make it with out him!

Good Luck!
