Today a student's Pokemon cards were stolen -- they were on my desk for "safe" keeping. I asked the students to check their bags in case they had been picked up unintentionally -- wouldn't you be sad if someone found your lost cards and kept them... then, I told the students that if they should find them tonight or tomorrow morning, in their schoolbags or coats or on the floor in the classroom (not likely), thye should be put back on my desk by lunch time. One of the other teachers heard me talking about the incident after school and said, "You should have checked ----'s bag. His brother steals." So, tell me: is it nature or nurture? And, if I were to assume that it was nature, wouldn't I be tainting the nurture side? I hope that the cards are returned tomorrow... see you all on Monday (weather permitting).
