At the beginning of the sonnet it talks about an woman that is plain, and has nothing special about her. Then the couplet at the end says that she is not beautiful, but he loves her just as she is.
I think that it mocks the traditional sonnet by not comparing the woman to things that other poets usually compare women to; like a rose. He is kinda showing that his love for this woman is deeper then another persons would be if they were to compare their woman to such superficial thing as a rose.
