1.) Shakespeare's diction conveys the season by using very dark and dreary words. The diction that he uses creates a dark and gloomy picture and makes it feel cold. The diction that he used created a feeling of late fall or early winter becuase it's gloomy; the leaves are all gone, and it is cold.
2.) The time and season in this sonnet are important because it sets the stage and gets you in the mood. Throughout the poem Shakespeare keeps the dark and gloomy mood and makes the poem connect better with the reader because they can feel what mood he was in when he wrote the sonnet.
