Shakespeare's diction conveys the season with words like yellow, leaves, cold, bared, and ruined choirs. These are describing the season of winter or fall depending on the readers preference.

Maybe just the end of the year or possibly the death of a person is coming, and that their time is soon to be gone. Then he talks about a love of that he might of had maybe taht of his life or of another even though the end is near.
