The answer to your question depends on several things. First, I don't believe you will find to many companies interested in making you a gearbox. This is due to potential liability that they always avoid, the fact they would probably only make you one or two units, and their own internal expertise would probably prevent a sucessful design. The best you might hope for is use one off a Mini500 or a production helicopter like an Enstrom and use it within the defined specifications.

The other option you would have depends on your own ability to design and engineer one and then have a machine shop make the needed parts(i.e. gear case, sleeves, bladed grips). The actual gears and bearings most likely can be purchased off the shelf. I would not want to discourage you from designing one but it is very important from a safety standpoint that you understand the necessary engineering and forces at work on a tail rotor system before attempting to design the unit.
