Have you ever seen one of those things? They are roughly 2 inches in diameter and they dont break. :> People inspect them after every 15 landings and they change them constantly. So to keep them from breaking, all you have to do is keep up with them and give it the oil it needs and be gentle with it whenever jets arent slamming into them.

Interesting metaphor!
