Subject: Orion Energy Field: Sighting

In November 1997 I was driving along Route 2, the Mohawk Trail in the town of Charlemont Massachusetts. It was night, about 8 PM. Suddenly the whole sky lit up blue, like dawn. At first I thought there was a cop behind me, but when I looked in my mirror there were no cars.
The car in front of me pulled over to the side at the edge of a field. The driver got out and walked a short distance into the field, looking up to the sky. I slowed to about 25 - 30 mph, but kept going. I was looking out all my windows and noticed the blue glow was everywhere, and there were no shadows. This blue energy light spanned from horizon to horizon, and lasted several seconds before fading.
Someone posted on another site about my experience that it could have been muons, which are subatomic particles created by interaction between cosmic rays and nutrinos. These tiny particles glow blue, and have been observed in the ice in Antarctica. My question is, even if this were the case, and the blue light was muons, why were they so widespread, and why did they occour at ground level, and in the atmosphere on a dark highway in the Berkshire mountains of western New England?
In my experience with beings from the Orion star system I was told that this event was caused by the energy field of one of their spacecraft, and I believe even if the light was caused by muons, it was from an interaction of nutrinos with their energy field.
Unfortunately the man who got out of his car never came forward and reported what he saw. He was obviously looking at something up in the sky, but I had found no reference anywhere to a sighting ior even a celestial phenomenon in mid-November 1997. Yet it was witnessed by 2 people.
