] Date Posted: 19:53:10 01/22/03 Wed in the catalog at www.FWDPerformance.com what all does the "basic reconditioned head" contain? cuz i took my head to a shop today and they looked into it and basically, there's $500+ worth of stuff wrong with the head, its pretty much trashed. so, does the "basic reconditioned head" at FWDPerformance contain everything i need to just slap it back on the block? (like lifters, valves, springs, rockerarms, etc). BTW: i sent them an email, but they havent responded yet, and i kinda need a quick answer. thanx [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 18:31:38 03/29/03 Sat I have dealt with FWDPerformance and they are very good at what they do. Try them again. They take a lunch any where from 2:30-4:30 to pick up their kids. If you get no response try the phone number on FWDPerformance website they can help you. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 21:14:09 01/24/03 Fri Heres some I found just doing a web search. http://www.aluminumcylinderhead.com/ (they advertise $199 reman. heads) http://www.carolinaheadman.com/heads.html (a little more expensive) http://www.cylinderheadstogo.com/ (have to request a price quote) http://www.powerpro2000.com/cylinder_heads.htm (call for pricing) There were a bunch more. Just do a web search for remanufactured cylinder heads. IMHO, the first one looks like a pretty good deal. HTH, Tony [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 11:31:48 01/28/03 Tue If you miss my post to the other topic, make sure that they specify using the "turbo spec" exhaust valves. I remember reading somewhere that they are definately different, and the n/a exhaust valves will burn within a month if used in a turbo application. Still, for $199 even if you have to swap in the correct exhaust valves it still sounds like a heck of a good deal. Tony [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 07:09:00 01/29/03 Wed after i make sure they have 'turbo spec' exhaust valves in it when i order it, how do i tell the difference between NA and turbo exhaust valves once the head gets here? [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 14:35:06 01/29/03 Wed I don't really know to tell you the truth. I looked on Gary's site, but the only thing I found was to definately not use the n/a valves. If TD.com was up, I'm sure somebody would know... I'll ask around and see what I can find out. Maybe there are some markings on them that would destinguish the difference.
