in the catalog at www.FWDPerformance.com what all does the "basic reconditioned head" contain? cuz i took my head to a shop today and they looked into it and basically, there's $500+ worth of stuff wrong with the head, its pretty much trashed. so, does the "basic reconditioned head" at FWDPerformance contain everything i need to just slap it back on the block? (like lifters, valves, springs, rockerarms, etc).
BTW: i sent them an email, but they havent responded yet, and i kinda need a quick answer. thanx

Here's the phone number listed on the website. I've never delt with Cindy personally, but the people I know that have were very pleased with the products and customer service.

I have dealt with FWDPerformance and they are very good at what they do. Try them again. They take a lunch any where from 2:30-4:30 to pick up their kids. If you get no response try the phone number on FWDPerformance website they can help you.

Heres some I found just doing a web search.
http://www.aluminumcylinderhead.com/ (they advertise $199 reman. heads)

http://www.carolinaheadman.com/heads.html (a little more expensive)

http://www.cylinderheadstogo.com/ (have to request a price quote)

http://www.powerpro2000.com/cylinder_heads.htm (call for pricing)

There were a bunch more. Just do a web search for remanufactured cylinder heads. IMHO, the first one looks like a pretty good deal.

Tony

Call FM (302)658-2829... NEW casting stock head complete $675.00. Don't bother getting a remanned if you can get a stock NEW casting for a few dollars more. They are brand new never been installed NO mileage heads and are worth EVERY penny.

Be carefull that you get a good one that's all I can say on this issue. If it has been around awhile it could have problems...

If you miss my post to the other topic, make sure that they specify using the "turbo spec" exhaust valves. I remember reading somewhere that they are definately different, and the n/a exhaust valves will burn within a month if used in a turbo application. Still, for $199 even if you have to swap in the correct exhaust valves it still sounds like a heck of a good deal.

I don't really know to tell you the truth. I looked on Gary's site, but the only thing I found was to definately not use the n/a valves. If TD.com was up, I'm sure somebody would know... I'll ask around and see what I can find out. Maybe there are some markings on them that would destinguish the difference.
