Subject: AIS motor?

What exactly does this thing do?

When i have it plugged in, and i rev the car, when it comes back down it sputters and dies. When i unplug it, the car idles great, and when i rev it, it comes back down straight into an idle.

My car is an 85 GLH-T with a intercooled T1 motor (Custom job). I didn't test drive it with the AIS unplugges, but i will tommaro and report back on the results. BTW, the IC T1 is a temporary thing. I will be going to a T2, blow through style system very soon...

Also, while i'm at it... When i am trying to boost HARD (15+ PSI) the car will boost all the way up, then it will taper down to about 10PSI. Is the exhaust causing this? It is the stock diameter tubing, BTW. Should i go to a 3" exaust?

And, will the same MP Computer that works on the GLH-S work on the GLH-T? I don't think it will, but it never hurts to ask! Thanks!

You sorta answered yourself on this: the AIS motor is responsible for engine idle speed.....it takes information from the computer and adjusts engine idle....in your case, to bring the engine idle back down easily so that it does not just die after a rev.
