The larger displacement motor cannot turn as high a RPM as the smaller motor but yet pumps more air early due to the increased cylinder volume.......well within the flow ability of our pathetic heads as it is at such a low RPM.....this is where the excellent torque numbers on a 2.5 come from. IMO the 2.5 is the best warmed over stock motor between the two....it's displacement works well with the flow characteristics of a stock type head.
