Subject: Job Description of the Zonal Representatives

Howdy folks. Since no nominations are pouring in for the Board positions, I thought that maybe you all needed some idea of what the positions job description entails.

Following is for the Zonal Representatives:

Job description for Zonal Representatives:

1. As the name implies, the Zonal Representative is supposed to REPRESENT the members in their zone;
2. They must contact each club in their zone regularly, (monthly, minimum recommendation);
3. They must inform and explain to the members of upcoming issues by the Board of Directors;
4. They must deliver the members’ ideas and opinions on the issues to the Board of Directors;
5. Any members ideas or issues not forthcoming on the board should be relayed to the Board (i.e., if a member does not get resolution, they should go to the President regarding their Zonal Rep’s conduct or “representation”);
6. The Rep should offer any assistance in helping clubs and members in their Ring endeavors (i.e., help them form clubs, hold trials, assist in understanding of the By-laws and Policies);
7. The Rep should contact each club immediately before and after a trial for procedural assistance;
8. The rep must work with the President on all zonal matters;
9. It is the duty of the zonal rep to vote on all Board issues;
10. Each Representative understands the Bylaw clause about removal from office for not performing the duties of their office.

Basically the person who runs for Zonal Rep, must themselves have an understanding of the Policies of NARA and the By-laws as well. These can be found at: http://www.ringsport.org/policies.htm for the Policies and at: http://www.ringsport.org/bylaws.htm for the By-laws.

If it is helpful, following is a brief description of the difference between the two. The Policies can be created or changed by a vote of the Board of Directors. These Policies are part of the rules that govern the organization. The By-laws can only be changed by a vote of the membership. The By-laws are the foundation on which an organization runs.

Hope this info is helpful.
