Need help!

I am writing here to inform everyone of a plan the town of Candia is considering putting into action as early as this summer that will directly affect the snowmobiling trails in Candia, specifically around Brown Road.

As you know, Candia has a wide variety of trails which connect directly to Bear Brook State Park. Candia has now drawn up plans to install a 500-ton transfer station at the beginning of Brown Road. This "super dump" will be the host for the trash of multiple towns, where trash will be hauled each day. Estimates have shown that at least 90 commercial trucks two times a day (or the equivalent of 180 commercial trucks) will be passing through this area each day, and that is not counting residential traffic.

Although the Candia selectmen have assured us that this will not directly affect the trails intersecting Brown Road, the indirect effects are enormous. Not only is the increased traffic going to impact the safety of riders, there is the pollution to think about, both in terms of noise and air pollution. Dumps, especially large dumps as this one is planned to be, affect the natural environment and bring in a disproportionate amount of wildlife, such as seagulls and rats, disturbing the ecological balance. Furthermore, there is the large amount of trash that will collect around the roadways.

I thought I should write you to inform you of this disturbing turn of events in an appeal to get help. Our Candia community has started to come together to fight this, but I am worried that this is not enough. Obviously, this will affect a lot more than our town. If you have any ideas as a way we can come together to help curb this disturbing turn of events, please feel free to contact me directly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
