Hey Stacy,
Because youre site was new, there was suspicion. Seriously, if you knew what Maria has done to many of us, you'd understand why we are dilligent when it comes to stopping her from befriending more innocent posters. She does harm people, if not with her threats, after the fact, then with her betrayal of trust. Many have learned the hard way to keep arms length away from folks on internet message boards.
Suggestions:
1. I suggest you not become friends with the gals on the boards so quickly. Get to know them on your board, first.
2. If a poster wants to email you or call you soon after posting on your board, be weary. That is unusual. Doesnt this person have regular friends? Ask yourself why this person wants to befriend you so quickly. And why she calls you so often, if that is the case.
3. Use your common sense when you hear any detailed encounters or stories about a person's experiences or friendships with players or celebrities. Far-fetched stories, are usually just that. She will try to sucker you in with her exciting stories.
4. Look at the phone number - where is the area code from? Is it consistant with where the person says she is from?
5. Ask the person specifics about where she lives. Ask about her favorite hang-outs or restaurants. Ask her what her zip-code is for the specific city she claims to be from. Or ask her what County she is from, or what the time is. If she hesitates, that's a bad sign.
6. Please make IP addresses able for viewing. I will pass along a IP website that allows you to trace the IP address to the posters location. If it's from Florida, BE EXTRA CAREFUL!!!!
7. Keep in mind she IS American, but claims to be Canadian. Anyone that overly expresses how she is Canadian (may say Toronto, but that can change), should raise a red flag. I'm all for patriotism, and the expression for your love of your country, but she is fixated with being Canadian. And I love Canada and it's people, so I'm not AT ALL insulting that great country.
Stacy, just know that there is a lunitic who is trying to make friends to gain more access to players for this upcoming season. Maria has been busted on the bench, HH, JHB, Cute NHLers, and now she is trying to make her lies fly on your board. I promise, it's her posing as ~H~. She is also posting on the LA Girls website, passing along a Jered Aulin picture she used to use on her Yahoo site, and passed to the girls who used to visit her site, "Puckbunnies Unite", when it was active.
