Subject: Album

I'm listening to the album right now, at last! I'm writing here because this is where I had the best times with Needs. And the only other possible option is dot org. Which now has bad associations for me with Needs.

I was expecting it to be brilliant, so I thought I'd be dissapointed. But it really is brilliant. I'm so glad I resisted listening to other scrappy copies and waited for the proper release. Now I have a copy that's all mine.

I was already feeling down today, but listening to this feels a strangely sad experience. Partly because it reminds me of the first times I listened to the band, when I knew nothing, it was just me and the songs, and how those times have passed. But it does make me very happy too.

It's good to hear the lyrics of some of the songs for the first time, instead of through the haze of a gig. Gloucester Road for example. And Martin's In a Fix! The way that sounds is a lovely surprise. It all sounds so lovely I want to cry. And I'm only half way through.

Thanks Zac, Andrew, Neil, Daniel and Phil.

Lxxx
