Hi

Have just dug an old R51/2/4 leaflet out of the archives (or draw)!

All used Volvo B10B/NC Paladins I believe.

It looks to me like the old R51/2 did the same routes as the Blue/red allestree do now!

The R54 ran from Derby - Kedleston Rd - Birchover way (Park Farm) - Allestree Lane. Then a one way loop around Cornhill - West Bank Rd - Woodlands Rd, and back into Derby the way it came (via Allestree Lane - Birchover way (Park Farm) and Kedleston Rd.

Each route (R51/2/4) had two departures per hour from Derby during the day creating a 10 minute frequency. Only the R51/2 ran in the evenings creating a half hour frequency, and just the R51 on Sundays to an hourly freq.

This info is taken from a Aug 2001 leaflet.

Hope this is of interest/help.
