Date Posted: 17:55:42 01/11/06 Wed In reply to: LEANPECS 's message, "Re: What now for the Bus Station" on 23:12:16 01/07/06 Sat I'm glad the bus station has finally closed down. Who cares about damned 1930s art deco style? Form follows function and the bus station can't function for modern standards. The temporary bus stop is fairing well but I wonder why a lane of the Morledge near the Alvaston and Chellaston stops has been concreted over. I feel alot safer at the temporary bus station, though safety depends on the location of the stop. Mines besides the take aways so I can enjoy a box of chips while waiting for the bus. I have my objections to the riverlights, i'd rather all the land is devoted to a bus station, the plan proposes a 24 bay station. Derby could do with a much larger one so all/most the services could be "centralised". I'm guessing alot of the derby friends of the earth people (or rather the folks who want to send derby to the 19th century) dont even use the bus station, let the long suffering bus users choose the stations fate I say!
