] Date Posted: 07:15:24 03/19/14 Wed Do CMN donations have to be collected before a contestant is eligible to compete onstage at a pageant? I was under the impression that it had to be visible on the web site. Is this true or can rules be overlooked for some? [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
[> Subject: As far as I know, yes. I have seen girls get pulled (or at least threatened with that) if they don't have their CMN in. Maybe the girl in question handed someone a check right before the pageant, and the site was not updated?

[> Subject: we had one or two, who prolonged bringing in CMN till very close to pageant day. Then did not bring it in by day of pageant. We ended up paying the fee ourselves because our community woiuld never donate to us if they thought we dropped a contestant for a mandatory "donation"!

[> Subject: I don't think "visible on the web site" is an enforceable requirement, since no one in the state of CA can guarantee that a donation hits the web site. That's a CMN staff job. Steve Takemura, I believe is the primary contact with CMN and the person to go to if there are problems. If I were an ED, and last minute donations were coming in , I would ask the contestants to make copies of any checks or screenshots of any online credit card donations as proof that the donations were actually paid. There have been times when donations didn't show up right away online due to CMN technical problems, not any wrongdoing on any contestant's or volunteer's part.
