Haha, excellent point Nigel!

In life and the world of work, are you going say to your boss "Actually, i only need £8,000 a year to live on, so please don't give me that extra £10,OOO"? I don't think so! People and even gig promoters, always need that little bit extra as security in case there is a severe economic downturn, which in these days of international terrorism, we are experiencing, and also when you consider the state of pensions is fucked too it makes good sense to have emergency funds.

Whenever there is a gig on, personally i measure up who is playing and what the admission fee is and then make a decision of whether or not the line-up justifies the fee and whether it's worth going to or not.

Because really what is the point of complaining that gigs cost too much? It just pisses people off for no good reason and eventually they'll go "fuck this i'm not putting on gigs anymore" and then we'll be complaining about the lack of quality gigs.

So if you think Nigel charges too much for his gigs then don't go(sorry Nigel) or alternatively be a little more prudent with your money and budget for gig expenditure instead of wasting your money on crap you don't really need. Personally i think Nigel doesn't charge excessively for gigs at all and so this is why i go to quite a lot of his punk gigs. So thanks Nigel for putting on gigs! and also to anybody else who puts gigs on too. As long as there are good gigs on to entertain us, then who really cares how much it costs? You can't really put a price on enjoyment.

Here endeth my sermon for today!
Kevin
xx
