Subject: Conemaugh from Johnstown to Freeport?

I am planning a kayak trip from Johnstown to Freeport in August and could use some advice from others that have done the trip. I have read the guide and, while helpful, it did not address some specifics.

Where is the best spot to put in? We would like to make the trip as long as possible. Can one kayak through Johnstown?

Is there any specific spot to camp for the night around conemaugh dam? Any remote spots to sleep without hassle?

Portage around the dam? It looks passable just up the path and around the right side. Any issues?

Take out at Freeport? Is there an exact spot we should look for?
