This worked great for me. I used a 2 oz. bottle of Folkart artist pigment paint in a turquoise color, and then added what was left in a bottle of baby blue craft paint(maybe 1/2 oz.)I filled my bathtub about half full with hot water. Stirred it with a wooden spoon until it was mixed well. I then put the whole dress in and pushed it around until it was completely covered. I let is soak, turning it every so often, until the water was just about cold. I didn't rinse it out, I just hung the dress up over the tub and let it drip. Then when it was just damp, I put it in the dryer to set the color. I came out perfect. So far the color doesn't rub off or anything. The fabric in the dress was not a natural fabric like cotton, so I knew that rit dye wouldn't take. I had tried this method years ago in the washer and it has always worked for me. I usually just use regular craft paint, and just happened to have had the one called artist pigment. I scooped out as much of the colored water after I did the dress and saved it in a bucket just in case I need some more of the color later. I just cleaned the rub with comet like always, and it comes right out. I hope this helps.
