Every time you compete you will get rules and regs from that competition, you could just look through those to see the common threads. And each time a judge judges they get those rules plus judging directions and guidelines: such as 30 pt system, Creative scoring, pre-judging, sages, curtains or open, etc., again their will be some common elements and some unique. A competition manager sets up the system to be used, selects and briefs the judges, briefs the competitors before the comp begins to clarify rules, etc. The show organizer sets up the locale (hotel or convention center)and specifics such as tables (18" convention type with adequate lighting and electrical), trophies and prizes, etc., plus handles advertisng and generating PR for the event.
