Double loading means to load 2 colors to the brush. One color on one sie and the other on the other side. Then depending on how you hold your brush you will get either one color or the other or both blended. It is a good technique for making realistic shading and shadowing effects, and is used commonly in flower designs. (Such as with pink and white, or red and white, red and pink, viloet and ???, I think you get the picture) Also the amount of the colors loaded affects the coloring, you can load more of one color vs the other, or load it higher up onto the brisles. To "load" on only one side, lay the brush flat, parallel to the pallet (horizontal) with paint on it (yes, you need a palette or a piece of paper, doesn't quite work out with a cup or bottle of paint.)then lay the bristles gently onto the paint spot, then lay the other side of the brush into the other side. If they say to slightly blend the 2 before application, then while holding the brush stright up and down down (so vertical)gently mash the point of the brush onto a clean spot on the pallet. The harder you mash, the more blending that is done in the middle of the brush, while maintaining the outter 2 colors as distinct colors.
