I thought the play was okay. It was interesting to see how one family unit could come apart in an instant. Actually, I think they were working towards a blow-up even before the play begins. Everyone is working at jobs they don't really want to be doing. Because of their color it is difficult. They don't have much money, so they have to deal with what they can afford, until Mama's insurance check arrives in the mail. My one prediction came true when Mama gave Walter the money to be in charge of. I knew he was going to use it for a liquor store license and he did. I would recommend this play to the people who enjoy reading plays. Reading plays is not for everyone, for instance I don't enjoy reading plays.
The final message I got from the play was that they were faced with alot of challenges. They went through alot of hard times. The neighborhood was not the best. Their appartment was very small and worn. They didn't make much money working jobs they didn't enjoy. Then they lost most of the money when Walter gave the money to Willie to go to Sprinfield for a liquor store license. But Mama was the soul of the family, she loved her family no matter what. It was her love that got them through everything that happened through the play. She stood up for Walter at the end.
