The shoulder is generally cut into two roasts, the Boston Butt and the Picnic Shoulder. The Boston Butt has less bone.

I don't often see Boston Butts in the local supermarkets but I do see plenty of picnic shoulders and sometimes for quite cheap. They also aren't too large either.

I have tried one before and it came out ok (it was my first try at pulled pork).
