I am aged 48 and completed my masters degree in 2005. I am dyslexic (mildly) but have a terrible short term memory and difficulty writing and spelling. I find that taking my time and removuing as many pressures as possible (E.g. starting things early, being somewhere quiet etc) helps. It would be useful to let your lecturer know (if you haven't already) as they may be able to make some accomodations for your difficulties (e.g. letting you dictate your essays or helping you to format the layout of your work to keep it simple. I hoe this helps.
