Subject: Update on 555 workings

Okay so I said I'd post updates on
What I'm doing with 555 here goes...

One of my first steps after finishing the book has been the creation of 3D artwork - tools, talismans - objects to work with the book. I have an art studio as well as ritual chamber. I began a whole lot of wood-working, ceramics, metal and leather work as well as collecting objects that appealed to my sense of magical aesthetics. The whole of the chamber has be created based on the images in 555. At some point I'd like to post photos of this stuff on this site. I honestly think the hobby Dremel is the magician's best friend.

The first of these workings has been the construction of a Nightgaunt servitor. I constructed a small Voudun-like doll in the likeness of a Nightgaunt image in 555. Sigils from the glyph were painted on the homunculus, then it was stuffed and ritually sewn together - along with it's wings - with a lock of my hair, oils and charged glyphs to create dreams inside.
I used no formal poetic words, just went improv. and spoke to it as if it were a real thing, alive to bring me dreams. Then slept with it under my pillow for the next week. During this entire week I had constant nightmares. I would wake up in a sweat, blankets on the floor, homunculus thrown under the bed. I didn't sleep well and at the end of the week had to open it up and banish. I, for the first time, seriously experienced magical burn-out. The next two or three weeks were very hard for me. I was still having vivid dreams, but not nightmares.

What threw me off guard was the fact that the majority of these dreams had nothing to do with the Cthulhu Mythos. A few did but most of them centered around my day-to-day life and ways I had perceived things that led to places I was, and did not want to be in my life. True nightmares. After the banishing these turned into pre-cognitive "this is how you change things" dreams. I learned a whole lot about myself. They have since stopped and now I'm just having normal dreams.

The dreams that did have anything to do with the Mythos dealt with the basic questions of how the hell I'm supposed to work with a book like this. It is not a recipe book, but pile of pictographic ingredients. Now I'm stuck with discovering what to do. This is why I created the servitor in the first place. I decided that I needed to find ways of communicating with the book itself. After doing a little research, dreams and divinatory workings seemed to be the answer.

I had initially made cards with the 18 glyphs which comprise the automatic writing that is the text in 555. But, I found myself wondering what the hell to do with them. I have no point of reference to give these any sort of meaning. So I began working with Giger's Baphomet deck of 22 cards combined with the Cabalistic Great Old Ones by John Coulthart and Alan Moore. Information on these can be found at the URLs below.

I've found this to be an excellent system of "Lovecraftian Tarot". John and Alan's work is truly a monument to Mythos occultism. The artwork is beautiful.

Through dreams and divination I was constantly given the suggestion that I needed to discover Tantric techniques on a deeper level than I had previously done. This was my silver key.
While doing research on western tantra I came across the work of Linda Falorio. Here is her web site with information on the shadow tarot.

I was inspired. What I'm doing now is the beginning of a long series of workings to find meaning in these glyphs. After a tantric trance-state is achieved, 18 parchment seals - one at a time - are charged, then I project the ego through the third eye region into and through the glyph in search of visions. Ink is then dropped into a skrying bowl and I begin automatic drawing with the same ink. This will become a series of paintings to be used like tarot cards to work with the book. Maybe, a few years from now these will be made public.
